Acer has been all over the place with their tablet strategies over the years. The last two years we have seen Acer shift their focus away from consumer tablets of their own, and towards sectors such as the education market and enterprise market instead.
And today I discovered that Acer is manufacturing tablets on behalf of other brands, as Acer’s been commissioned by Dixons Carphone, one of the largest electronics retailers in Europe, to manufacture 7-inch, 8-inch, and 10.1-inch tablets for stores like Currys in the UK.
The 7-inch tablet only features Bluetooth 4.2 so I don’t expect the other specs to be groundbreaking, but at least the 8-inch and 10.1-inch tablets by Acer features Bluetooth 5.0.
Acer used to come up with lots of good concepts and ideas, so it’s a shame that they’re not focusing on their own range of next generation Android tablets right now. Things are better in Windows computers though, where Acer is enjoying popularity with high-end devices like the ConceptD Ezel.
