Acer announced a new 2-in-1 tablet for 2016 today with their brand new Acer Aspire Switch 12 S (SW7-272). It has some really good specs.
With this tablet Acer wants to emphasize new technologies such as Acer ExoAmp WiFi antenna embedded in the metal chassis too.
Acer Switch 12 S is a 12.5-inch Windows 10 2-in tablet with Continuum support on Windows 10. Processing power comes from the latest Intel Core processors.
So the Wi-Fi is cutting edge with dual-band and dual-antenna MU-MIMO 802.11 b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi. Other specs include USB 3.0, Thunderbolt 3 on USB-C, and optional Acer Graphics Dock, and a Intel RealSense Camera R200 on the back.
There are two display options, 4K (3840×2160) or Full HD (1920×1080), while RAM options are 4GB or 8GB. Storage options are 128GB or 256GB of SSD storage.
In addition to that, it also has front-facing speakers with Acer TrueHarmony and Dolby Audio Premium. The front camera is a 1280×720 webcam. The tablet weighs 800 grams or 1400 grams with the keyboard attached.
Acre says it aims to launch the Acer Aspire Switch 12 S North America in February, starting from $999. Which is stiff for a Acer tablet, even though it looks very attractive.
