Here’s something unusual in some ways. An e-reader that’s not just larger than most e-readers with its 7.8-inch display, but an e-reader that runs Android for OS which has now become available internationally, after its domestic launch several weeks ago: https://www.gearbest.com/electronics-gadgets/pp_009990021866
Called Likebook Mars, this is an actual e-ink display e-reader that runs Android, albeit an older 6.0 version. It has a little bit of power too, from an octa-core RockChip RK3368 processor, with 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage.
The resolution of this large e-reader display is 1872 x 1404, giving it a pixel density of 300ppi. It has a 3100 mAh battery, which should last for 12 days of continuous reading, while it has internet access through single-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.1, and with a microSD slot also supports memory cards with up to 128GB of content.
Likebook Mars is naturally very light, with a weight of just 245 grams, while the thickness is 9.3mm.
It has e-reader features like color temperature adjustment, adjustments of fonts and text size, line spacing, and contrast adjustment, with file format support for at least PDF, MOBI, EPUB, FB2, TXT, JPG, PNG, GIF, PPT, DOC, and possibly others.
Likebook Mars is an interesting e-reader, and even at $215 it is still cheaper than Amazon’s 7-inch $249 Kindle Oasis.
