Acer is going all in on 3D, as it announced a large investment in 3D computing during their annual spring event.
The newest product and the one most relevant to tablets is the portable Acer SpatialLabs View and Acer SpatialLabs View Pro.
These two versions of a 15.6-inch portable monitor with stereoscopic 3D in 4K with 3840 x 2160 resolution and 100% Adobe RGB color gamut, so that it will render colors accurately in all usage scenarios, ranging from collaborations, to product displays or gaming.
And with stereoscopic view, there’s now need for 3D glasses. Even 2D images can be brought to 3D in simulated 3D stereo.
There is another requirement though. It will require a minimum GPU of a Nvidia RTX 3070Ti or higher.
Acer is also developing a large suite of 3D features to go with all their 3D focus, so Acer is really carving out a niche for itself here.
Acer believes it can launch the SpatialLabs View sometime during the summer for $1099.
