The latest rumor on the 2018-2019 models of iPad Pro is that stock analyst Jun Zhang of Rosenblatt Securities believes these tablets will be launched at Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) in June.
And in addition to the Face ID camera that the new iPad Pros have already been believed to feature, Zhang also believes that the next iPad Pros will have slim bezels with no home button.
Some artists have even gone as far as to make renders of these iPads looking like a giant iPhone X, meaning that it doesn’t have a full display, but a notch on top of the screen where the Face ID camera would then be according to their ideas.
A notch on an iPad would be a step down and seems unlikely, while smaller bezels are possible in practice, provided that the software for the palm rejection and finger rejection is set up so well, that the iPad is accurate in predicting when a user is simply holding on to the screen and when they mean to scroll or touch it.
The current two iPad Pros have quite thin bezels on the sides already, but larger on the top and bottom, where the bottom bezel also house the home button, so we will see what happens then.
Before then, it’s also possible that Apple will launch the cheap new 9.7-inch Apple iPad that supposedly will only cost $259, now in March already.
