The first Asus ZenPad have appeared in store, with the Asus ZenPad C 7.0 (Z170C) taking orders for $99, while the release date is July 12 in the US:
Asus ZenPad C 7.0 is the cheapest new Android tablet from Asus in their new ZenPad series. And it’s also one of the best budget tablets in the category of entry level 7-inch Android tablets under $100, the other one being the new Lenovo Tab 2 A7-30.
The Asus ZenPad C 7.0 was unveiled by Asus at COMPUTEX 2015 on June 2, and is one of the very first tablets to be powered by the new 1.2 GHz quad-core Intel Atom x3-C3200 processor with a Mali-450 MP4 graphics processor. It launches with Android 5.0 Lollipop and also has the skin / user interface Asus ZenUI which adds a lot of features. It even has things like touch gesture support and Kids Mode.
The 7-inch screen has a resolution of 1024 x 600, and the display quality is high with a good visual experience. The display also has zero air gap technology, wide-angle IPS, 10 finger multi-touch support, and anti-fingerprint coating.
It has 1GB of DDR3 SDRAM, and this model on sale now has 16GB storage with microSD card support up to 64GB. Additionally you get 5GB free of lifetime Asus cloud storage, (16GB the first year), and then even 100GB of free Google Drive cloud storage for 2 years on top of that.
ZenPad C 7.0 supports 802.11 b/g/n W-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0. Included sensors are GPS, AGPS, GLONASS, and a G-sensor, with a 3.5 mm audio combo jack, and a micro-USB port on the side of the tablet.
One of the highlights on this tablet is that since it’s tablet of the ZenPad family, it has DTS HD Premium sound through the front of the tablet.
Another highlight is the elegant and functional design on the back of the tablet that not only provides good friction over long time, but also looks very stylish.
This particular model (Z170C-A1-BK) has a 0.3MP front camera, and a 2MP rear camera (specified because in other markets some more expensive models have a 5MP rear camera). The battery life is 8 hours on the Asus ZenPad C 7.0, while the thickness is 8.4 mm and the weight is 265 grams.
