The brand new 9.7-inch Asus ZenPad 3S 10 (Z500M) finally started taking pre-orders today, and the US price is fantastic at just $299. Both the Titanium Grey and the Glacier Silver color options of Asus ZenPad 3S 10 are available for pre-order today. The exact release date is November 5 in the US, even if it has just started taking orders.
Those who have been eagerly awaiting this new 9.7-inch Android 6.0 tablet are already looking at the order details of it in the stores now, but for those who are unfamiliar with the Asus ZenPad 3S 10 (Z500M), here’s the reason why this tablet is hot.
Its main competitor is the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7, with its octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, AMOLED display, and the thinnest and lightest tablet design yet. But the price is also $100 to $200 higher than that of the Asus ZenPad 3S 10.
So in comes Asus ZenPad 3S 10 with such highlights as a 9.7-inch screen with a 2048 x 1536 resolution display, 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM, a hexa-core MediaTek MT8176 processor, a 650 MHz IMG GX6250 GPU, 64GB of storage, complete Wi-Fi cover, a fingerprint reader in the home button, USB Type-C, and a 5MP front camera, and a 8MP rear camera both with Full HD 1080 video recording. And that makes it a very attractive alternative.
The ZenPad 3S 10 with its 5.8 – 7.15 mm thickness and low weight of 430 grams from the forged aluminum body makes it very mobile and thin, and the second lightest and second thinnest tablet in the 9.7-inch Android tablet category after Samsung’s S2.
Asus ZenPad 3S 10 was unveiled in Taiwan on July 12.
Specs include support for Asus Z Stylus digitizer, while this tablet has Android 6.0 Marshmallow, dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi cover and Miracast support, Bluetooth 4.2 +EDR +A2DP, 128GB microSD card support, and also 5GB lifetime cloud storage from Asus, anti-fingerprint coating, stereo speakers with DTS HD Premium sound, aptX support, g-sensor, e-compass, gyroscope, light sensor, hall sensor, GPS, and GLONASS, with some of the features including blue light filter and virtual 7.1 channel surround sound.
The Asus ZenPad 3S 10 battery life is 10 hours, from that 22Wh Li-polymer battery (5900 mAh / 3.85V), with support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. So the battery life is decent and it charges quickly.
The Asus ZenPad 3S 10 comes with two color options that are called Titanium Grey and the Glacier Silver, but we might just as well think of them as black and white, and the colors also carries over from the back of the tablet to the front bezels around the display.
