Amazon is holding a rare sale on their Kindle (from $69 to $59), Kindle Fire HD (down from $139 to $118), and Kindle Fire HDX (down from $229 to $195) tablets today only, to celebrate that FAA has allowed for the use of tablet computers during flights, from take-off to landing. Though, if your tablet has 3G/4G connectivity, the cellular connection must be turned off during flight.
The FAA press release was released on October 31, but Amazon’s offer is available today, on Monday November 4. The news was missed by a lot of people since the news of the FAA ruling came out while people were dressing up for Halloween.
The infographics below illustrate in brief what the new FAA regulations means.
