With Firefox tablets in rapid development this year, Alcatel Onetouch announced their collaboration with Mozilla at MWC in Spain with the display of the Alcatel Onetouch Fire 7 Firefox concept tablet.
This isn’t the first Firefox tablet (concept), but it shows how more manufacturers are warming up to Mozilla’s growing mobile OS. As the Fire 7 tablet is mostly built to grab attention from developers, the specs are not that interesting at this point, so the 7-inch Fire 7 only have what Alcatel Onetouch calls mid-tier specs.
These are a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 2GB of RAM, a 960 x 540 resolution display, a VGA front camera and a 2MP rear camera, with a tablet thickness of 9.9mm and a weight of 285 gram.
In addition, Foxconn, one of the other Firefox tablet developers and close Mozilla collaborators, announced the 7-inch and 10-inch Firefox developer tablets that they call InFocus.
The Firefox smartphones have matured more than the tablets at this point, as we can see from the images of the new Alcatel Onetouch Fire E and Fire S phones below.
