A cheap new 8-inch Windows 10 tablet from Chuwi will be launched in the last week of December, which will effectively make it the last new tablet released in 2015:

The Chinese tablet is the Chuwi Vi8, an 8-inch HD tablet with Intel Atom Z8300 processor. It will be launched for just under $95, which is very cheap.

And the specs are generally acceptable based on the price, with the quad-core Z8300 Cherry Trail processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage with 64GB microSD card support, and a 1280 x 800 resolution on the 8-inch screen which still has 10-point touch support.

Wi-Fi support counts 802.11 a/b/g/n bands, as well as Bluetooth 4.0. What makes this tablet stand out the most in the 8-inch Windows 10 category however, is the inclusion of a USB Type-C port. This isn’t something that everyone cares about, but it’s useful to have now that the technology is here. And the tablet still has an HDMI port as well with 1080p video output, and of course a 3.5 mm audio combo jack.

The 8-inch Chuwi Vi8 Windows 10 tablet also has a 2MP front camera, and a 2MP rear camera. The battery capacity isn’t very high, at just 4000 mAh, and the company itself says that the battery life is just 3 hours long. So that’s an obvious drawback compared to the alternatives in this category. The cheapest alternative with a Cherry Trail processor from a reputable brand is the HP Envy 8 Note, but then again it costs 2 times as much.

Other than that the upcoming Chuwi Vi8 tablet is 9.3 mm thick and weighs 350 grams.
