Lenovo announced the sleek looking Lenovo Home Assistant Pack with Amazon Alexa for tablets during the IFA trade show in Berlin 3 1/2 months ago, and today it was released through AT&T for $80: https://www.att.com/accessories/docks/lenovo-speaker-dock
The Lenovo Home Assistant Pack is a voice activated personal assistant that uses Amazon Alexa as its information source, and it can be used to act on commands, set hands free alerts, make appointments, look up things and speak the answers out for you including live scores in sports, and related tasks like that.
Inside of the Lenovo Home Assistant Pack, we are looking at specs like 2 x 3 watt speakers so that it can actually play music with a lot more comfort to your ears than your regular tablet speakers, and it has two far-field mics located on top that will recognize a users voice commands from 9.8 feet / 3 meters away. For privacy, there’s a kill switch on top of it, if all you want is to use the speakers to listen to music or watch videos.
While the Lenovo Home Assistant Pack looks sturdy, it still only weighs 300 grams while also acting as a side-docked tablet stand through the micro-USB port for the 5 tablets it is compatible as of today.
The Lenovo Home Assistant Pack compatible tablets are the Android 7.1 tablets Lenovo Tab 4 8 and Lenovo Tab 4 8 Plus at 8 inches, and the Lenovo Tab 4 10, the Full HD Lenovo Tab 4 10 Plus, and the Lenovo Moto Tab at 10.1 inches.
