The first Asus PadFone S with a 5-inch smartphone and 9-inch tablet was launched during fall 2014, but now the 2015 model have been upgraded slightly.
In the marketing of the PadFone S the focus is now a little more on the phone than it used to be.
Earlier this month, Asus had to issue a statement correcting the impression that people had previously been led to believe that the NFC feature of the PadFone S included mobile-wallet functionality. Which it did not.
But the PadFone S (PF500KL) still has NFC though. There’s also 3GB of RAM on the tablet this time around, and there’s a free 1-year screen replacement warranty. I don’t mind the latter, that’s for sure.
The reaming specs are Android 4.4, a Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB RAM on the phone, 1080 x 1920 resolution on the phone, with 1200 x 1920 resolution on the tablet, 2G/3G/4G connectivity, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, and a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi support.
