A rumor surrounding two potential 11.6-inch Acer Aspire Switch 2-in-1’s have appeared over the last couple of days after Tabtec found the model names SW5-111 and SW-171 in shipping lists, and then later on Acer.com where they were found listed as compatible with a HDMI cable.
Since Acer haven’t updated their 11.6-inch Windows 8.1 tablets Acer Iconia W700 and Acer Aspire P3 in a long time, it’s speculated that 11.6-inch Acer Aspire Switch tablets could appear with the options of both Intel Bay Trail processors as well as Intel Core i3/5/7 processors, like on the Acer Iconia W700.
(UPDATED: The two models of Acer Aspire Switch 11 were launched in September.)
The first Acer Aspire Switch was the Acer Aspire Switch 10, released in May. The main competitor for the Acer Aspire Switch 10 is the Asus Transformer Book T100, and with any new 11.6-inch 2-in-1 tablets, Acer will face similar competition from Asus and their brand new Asus Transformer Book T200.
